The puzzle of addiction lies in understanding the decision to take drugs despite negative consequences and goals to pursue other activities. Powerful motivational forces—such as craving—reliably precede these decisions, yet the mechanism remains unclear. My work combines computational modeling with naturalistic sampling and task-based neuroimaging to understand the algorithmic link between craving and behavior.
I’m currently a PhD student in the Addiction & Decision Neuroscience Lab at Rutgers University, with Anna Konova. Previously, I was a post-baccalaureate research assistant at the University of Kansas within the Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment, with Richard Yi, and the Behavioral Science Lab, with Tim Pleskac.
